Definition and classification
Straight braces are one of the key secondary components in steel structure buildings. Their main function is to adjust and control the stability of two adjacent purlins. In a broad sense, braces (including straight braces and diagonal braces) refer to common components in steel structures. The main material is generally Q235 wire rods, and diameters of φ12 and φ14 are more common.
Straight braces are a type of brace, mainly used to provide support in the straight direction. Braces can also be divided into tie rods, upper chord horizontal supports, lower chord horizontal supports, and oblique cross rods. In steel structure workshops, straight braces, diagonal braces, purlins, tie rods, corner braces, etc. together constitute the support system of the steel structure.

Straight braces are usually made of round steel with a diameter of 12 or 14, and round steel with a diameter of 14 and 16 is used for special purposes. The material used is generally Q235 wire rod, which has sufficient strength and toughness to meet the requirements of structural stability.
